Communicating through Conflict

How to have difficult conversations with confidence, compassion, and accountability

ONLINE WORKSHOP
1 - 3:30pm ET

Work relationships aren’t always easy. People disagree, priorities come into conflict, and sometimes feelings get hurt. Many of us have learned that the “professional” thing to do is to shove our emotions down and slap on a fake smile.

But while avoidance can feel more comfortable in the moment, it ultimately makes things worse: you get burnt out, teams lose trust, and collaboration turns to contention.

The antidote is brave conversations—conversations that are direct and honest, yet compassionate and responsible. This session will show you how to have them.

What you’ll learn

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn:

  • What it looks like to engage in a difficult conversation responsibly—without assumptions, attacks, or passive-aggressive behavior

  • How to boldly advocate for your perspective—while holding space for others’ POV, too

  • How to communicate your needs, set boundaries, and discuss roles in healthy and respectful ways

You’ll leave with the skills to turn conflict from an issue between you to an issue in front of you—so all parties are oriented toward finding solutions instead of “winning.”

Who it’s for

This is a mixed-level workshop ideal for anyone who wants to feel more confident facing uncomfortable situations.

“I had a difficult conversation with a colleague last week that I am 100% sure I would not have been able to have if not for that workshop. The conversation absolutely needed to happen, but having the tools to get it started (and having had the ability to have a mock difficult conversation) made something that is never going to be easy somehow easier.”
